Over the course of eight to ten weeks, you’ll get to:

  • Work as part of a dedicated team focused on specific transactions, products, or market sectors, creating solutions for corporate, private equity and financial institution clients. Teams include Advisory and Investment Banking Coverage, Capital Markets, HSBC Infrastructure Finance, and Structured Finance
  • Prepare and review the materials we use when delivering those solutions to clients – including investment memos, management presentations, and pitchbooks
  • Gain a better understanding of how different types of financial models are used for mergers and acquisitions, and debt and equity financing transactions
  • Monitor market developments and conduct credit analysis to create internal and external materials
  • In HSBC Infrastructure Finance, you’ll gain a better understanding of the types of products and services that we offer our clients across Infrastructure Finance and Export Finance, such as project finance, acquisition finance, export finance lending and / or coordination, debt advisory products. You'll see how the teams work together and with other HSBC coverage or investment banking teams such as M&A, sector teams, debt capital markets, credit risk solutions and others to deliver value-add transactions for our clients. The HSBC Infrastructure Finance team is central in supporting customers on their energy transition and net zero journeys by providing finance and advisory services to accelerate decarbonisation solutions

What You’’ll Learn

We’ll help you develop the technical skills most relevant to your role. We’ll also provide plenty of opportunities to advance your non-technical skills, like relationship management and collaboration, that will help you move your career forward successfully.

During your time on the programme, you’ll:

  • Be introduced to financial markets, so you have a better understanding of product overviews, the corporate life cycle, financial modelling, valuation, accounting fundamentals and financial analysis relevant to your team
  • Receive training specific to the team you work with that will build your market and industry knowledge
  • Learn how we work closely with clients to understand their long-term strategic goals and deliver tailored financial and advisory solutions
  • Join our Speaker Series where you’ll meet with senior bankers and learn about our different teams and the breadth of our coverage and clients
  • Perform various financial analysis methods that will help you develop the relevant analytical skillset for your team
  • Become proficient in Excel and PowerPoint and ever more confident in your presentation and visualisation skills
  • Have plenty of other opportunities to develop your behavioural, cognitive and technical skills, plus people to support you along the way, ensuring you’re well prepared for the future

Requirements

  • Available to work full time for 10 weeks from May 2025 onwards
  • Must graduate between December 2025 and June 2026
  • Obtained, or expected to achieve, a GPA of at least 4.0 / 5.0 or 3.2 / 4.0 (as appears on your official University Transcript or Degree Certificate), or overseas equivalent to this
  • Fluent in English
