About the Team

Product Control is the face of finance to the sales and trading desks at a FI. They provide financial control and transparency through providing a profit and loss statement and balance sheet which is accurate and timely, supporting the desk in the execution of their business strategy; and evaluating and integrating new products into the financial environment.

This is an exciting time to join the team as the business is growing with strong revenue projections in the pipeline, that provides the PC team the opportunity to design the infrastructure build, gain technical awareness in cross products and chance to liaise with local and global stakeholders.


Product Control graduate will be producing, preparing and reporting of the daily P&L and Risk. The incumbent will have strong IT skills, such as Excel and an interest to grow further their IT knowledge. Further, they will have a keenness to analyze figures / numerical data to be able explain PL drivers and also high detail to accuracy.


  • Ownership of production, preparation and reporting of the daily P&L and Risk
  • Front-to-Back reconciliations, P&L Commentary, verification of manual adjustments
  • Balance Sheet substantiation – check and review balance sheet items related to trading desks, coordinate with other key stakeholders
  • Provision and Independent Price Verification Adjustments – ensure the accuracy and sufficiency of reserves and valuation adjustments as required 
  • Provide detailed analysis and reporting on the financials to desk heads and senior finance management
  • Partner with seniors to implement robust controls and document procedures on an on-going basis
  • Work closely with local financial reporting team in Singapore and regional finance team in Hong Kong to fulfill group control requirements

Skills and Qualifications

  • University graduate in business, finance or other related disciplines
  • Strong skills in Microsoft applications particularly Excel (ideally with VBA) and PowerPoint
  • Team Player – support the immediate team with positive contributions, pre-empt issues
  • Working relationship with stakeholders - confident to deal with different teams, ability to prepare in advance.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills (Strong data analytics, including ability to manipulate large datasets)
  • Ability to working independently and collaboratively and thrive in fast-paced and deadline-driven
