The Programme 

This is a 12 month internship opportunity with the Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Management team in APJC.

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our regional Inclusion, Diversity & Equity (ID&E) Team as an ID&E Intern to support a variety of ID&E programs that helps us build a welcoming, supportive, diverse and inclusive workplace.

The ID&E Intern will work within the AWS APJC ID&E Team and report to a Sn ID&E Business Partner. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our experienced ID&E team members and get involved in all elements of ID&E programmatic strategies and execution. You will work with our team of ID&E Business Partners in the region to help develop and execute on a variety of ID&E programs and initiatives which are targeted to attract and support diverse talents and foster a culture of equity & inclusion within our businesses and communities.

About the 12-month Internship:

We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic student to join our fast paced world as an intern. An internship here will provide you with an unforgettable experience in a fast-paced, dynamic and international environment; it will provide a holistic and exciting introduction to the professional world.

You will put your skills to the test and roll up your sleeves while working with the team to learn about how we action on our ID&E commitments. You will also deliver projects and proposals to contribute to the team’s success (and ultimately our customers’).  

This could include:

  • Assist in developing ID&E program and training roadmaps for the region.
  • Support with planning and logistics for ID&E events, such as Women’s Summit, Inclusion Townhall, etc.
  • Provide key programmatic updates for the APJC and Global ID&E Team. 

Required Skills and Abilities 

Basic Qualifications:

This opportunity is for CURRENT UNIVERSITY STUDENTS only, graduating in 2024.

  • You are currently in your 2nd or 3rd year, working towards a university degree in HR, economics, social sciences, humanities, or a related field, and have not yet graduated.
  • You have the right to work indefinitely in the country to which you are applying.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You are results-driven with analytical capability and possess some experience in project management.
  • Evidence of leadership skills, working effectively with a team – perhaps you are president of a sporting or social club at university or took the lead in charity work or a group project.
  • You demonstrate the personal drive and enthusiasm about inclusion, diversity, equity, social justice – it could be a volunteering experience, or an essay about a social justice issue, or an ambitious goal or idea to address inequity in your communities, etc. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous and deadline-oriented environment and to prioritize workload even when faced with conflicting priorities.
  • Previous work experience – a summer job, internship or full- time role; if it’s in a people- or customer-facing environment, even better.
