What to expect? 

Global Functions at HSBC comprises a number of teams that, together play a vital role in supporting the bank’s Global Businesses.

Global Finance

We are hiring graduates into Global Finance which helps in ensuring that HSBC manages costs and deploys capital in the most effective way. The team provides financial insight, accuracy and control, using analytical skills to support our Global Businesses and influence and challenge business decisions.

By joining our Graduate Programme in Finance, you will be expected to:

• Develop a deep understanding of the finance function and will have an opportunity to rotate across the various Finance teams (Financial Control, Tax, Product Control, Financial Planning & Analysis and our business finance teams; Commercial Banking, Wealth & Personal Banking and Global Banking & Markets);
• Support with micro-automation of activities by applying tools such as Python and Xceptor, as well as to improve how we visualise our performance and key metrics through visualisation tools e.g., Qlik Sense and Tableau;
• Deliver accurate and timely analysis, whilst applying problem solving and analytical skills to improve processes and outputs delivered by the various teams; and
• Expected to collaborate with other teams and share best practices.

Internal Audit

We are hiring graduates into Internal Audit which provides an independent, objective assessment of HSBC’s risk management, control and governance processes. This enables management and risk and audit committees to understand whether they are operating effectively.

By joining our Graduate Programme in Internal Audit, you will be expected to:

• Support global and regional audits across the bank, leveraging business knowledge, a risk and controls mindset and advanced data analytics / data science capabilities; and
• Participate in global and regional projects designed to help the function achieve its strategic objectives.

Who can apply?

To be eligible, you must be a final year undergraduate or recent graduate with availability to work full time from October 2023 onwards. Candidates with a good academic standing of at least second-class honors degree or above are preferred.

You must possess:  

• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good learning attitude and able to work with multiple stakeholders.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Fluency in English.
• The legal right to work in Singapore.

Whilst we are inclusive and support applications from all degree disciplines, candidates with Accountancy, Banking, Finance, and Audit related disciplines will typically have relevant experience/related studies to apply to the role.
