What to expect? 

Global Functions at HSBC comprises a number of teams that, together play a vital role in supporting the bank’s Global Businesses. We are hiring graduates into Global Risk which supports HSBC globally in all aspects of risk management. This function manages a varied range of risks, including security, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market and reputational.
The primary roles in Global Risk are:

Retail Credit Risk (RCR)

  • Assistance in the oversight activities in relation to Advance Ratio maintenances for collateral in Wealth Lending portfolio;
  • Support Card and Loans Straight Through Processing (STP) origination project in relation to credit related changes (e.g. review UAT results, updates credit procedures);
  • Support the yearly Unsecured Oversight thematic reviews, e.g. work with Operations or Underwriting Services (UWS) to track the exceptions that are flagged out for investigation to closure within agreed timeline; and
  • Support in Non-Financial Risk (NFR) oversight on distribution risk in Wealth, including but not limited to performing challenge and review on new wealth product proposals changes to sales process and journeys, product governance etc.

Enterprise Risk Team (ERT)

  • Support team in preparation, analysis and review of Risk Management Meeting materials;
  • Support team in coordination of Environmental and Climate related Risks; and
  • Support Head of ERT in various ad-hoc projects (e.g. data/reporting/ innovation/transformation initiatives).

Operational & Resilience Risk (ORR)

  • Evaluate automation opportunities for conducting 2 Line of Defense (LoD) assurance activities;
  • Assist in conducting look across exercise for Resilience risk related taxonomies; and
  • Review projects, change management initiatives along with coverage ORR lead colleagues.

Who can apply?

To be eligible, you must be a final year undergraduate or recent graduate with availability to work full time from October 2023 onwards. Candidates with a good academic standing of at least second-class honors degree or above are preferred.
 
You must possess:  

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good learning attitude and able to work with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English.
  • The legal right to work in Singapore.
