As a member within the Non-Volatile Engineering (NVE) Transformation Team at Micron, we are primarily responsible for developing media integration architecture and algorithms for Micron’s wide portfolio of system products. This is a key creative and development position where we provide mentorship and direction improve the quality Micron products by applying system and component-level expertise.

We work cross functionally, interacting with a myriad of teams (systems, component, firmware, architecture). This team provides broad exposure to critical system and component knowledge. Our team is proficient, dedicated authority in system integration, system debug, data gathering, and system failure analysis. 

What you will do 

  • You will delve into sophisticated data analysis of a broad range of system test metrics and logs using MySQL and Matlab primarily. This effort will lead valuable lessons that can be applied to future media management algorithms. In the course of the project, you will have the opportunity to work with a multi-functional team and gain valuable experience in non-volatile media and systems from a large data analysis perspective.  
  • Successful applicants will be tasked to find opportunities and innovate solutions to better the quality of Micron’s portfolio of cutting edge, high-value system products using big data analytics. They will be exposed to various tools and techniques and be allowed to build upon that toolset.  
  • Suitable candidates for this position are typically capable of demonstrating:  
  • Keen sense for learning new concepts and data analysis techniques 
  • Technical expertise with regards to object oriented programming and database query 
  • Leadership and proficiency on a variety of data storage projects and activities 
  • Experimental test development and data collection practices that enable the interpretation and presentation of results that guide decisions, advancing media management development and failure analysis 
  • Demonstrate meaningful, accurate, and timely feedback to engineering and business partners, positively impacting their function 
  • Successful partnerships with internal and external dedicated specialist, advancing product development outcomes and setting the direction for future system products
  • Effective communication and interaction with remote development, manufacturing, and quality teams; improving existing and future product performance 

Required Skills and Abilities 

  • Bachelor in Electrical, Computer Engineering or Statistics and Mathematics (or a related field) 
  • Strong programming skills is preferred but not vital 
  • Self-motivated and intense problem-solving skills, including a propensity to seek new solutions
