The Programme

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Group Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) department as an intern.  

This internship opportunity is based at our headquarters and offers invaluable hands-on experience in the dynamic field of renewable energy and HSSE management, under the guidance of experienced HSSE professionals. 

What You Will Do

  • Assist in HSSE Compliance: Support the HSSE team in ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Incident Reporting and Investigation: Assist in the documentation, analysis, and investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses. Help identify root causes and contribute to the development of preventive measures.
  • Safety Training and Awareness: Collaborate with the HSSE team to develop and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors. Assist in promoting a culture of safety and awareness throughout the organization.
  • Environmental Monitoring and Reporting: Support environmental monitoring activities, including data collection, analysis, and reporting. Assist in identifying opportunities for environmental improvement initiatives.
  • Emergency Response Planning: Contribute to the development, review, and testing of emergency response plans and procedures. Assist in organizing drills and exercises to evaluate response effectiveness.
  • Documentation and Recordkeeping: Assist in maintaining accurate and up to date HSSE documentation, records, and databases. Help ensure proper documentation of safety meetings, inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Ad-Hoc Tasks: Undertake additional tasks and projects as assigned by the HSSE Manager or Supervisor. 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Background in Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in health, safety, security, and environmental management within the renewable energy industry.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • PowerApps and Powerautomate are a plus.
  • Proficiency in photo editing software such as Adobe photoshop and illustrator is a plus.
  • Knowledge of relevant HSSE regulations, standards, and best practices is a plus.
