The Engineering and Technology team is at the core of the Shopee platform development.

The team is made up of a group of passionate engineers from all over the world, striving to build the best systems with the most suitable technologies.

What You Will Do

• Participate in the system architecture design, optimization, and maintenance of Big Data engines and platform.
• Engage in system performance tuning and troubleshooting, ensuring service stability and high availability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and optimize features based on business requirements.
• Write and maintain technical documentation, ensuring knowledge consolidation.
• Analyze and solve user problems combining user scenarios. 

Required Skills and Abilities

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields, expected to graduate in 2025.
• Basic understanding of Big Data related components and its internal mechanisms.
• Proficient in Java, HDFS, Kafka, and other relevant technologies.
• Excellent team collaboration and communication skills, able to respond and resolve issues promptly.
• Ability to read technical documentation.
• Candidates must be able to commit at least 3 months of full-time internship from May 2024. 

Good to have:

• Previous exposure to or coursework related to the Big Data domain.
• Interest in cloud-native technologies, including Kubernetes.
• A solid foundation in algorithms and a keen interest in problem-solving.
• Interest in open-source contributions and eagerness to learn from the open-source community.
