The Programme

The Operation teams at Shopee covers the operational end-to-end process, from when the buyer searches for a product listed on the Shopee platform, to the moment the buyer receives the products.

The team analyses and monitors operational KPIs across the region and conducts root cause analysis when operation performance fluctuates.

The Operations team comprises Customer Service, Payment, Listings, Warehouse, Logistics, Seller Operations and Fraud.

We are looking for data-driven problem-solvers to be part of our regional team.

Data is core to our work - we work with large data sets to draw insights into delivery performance, optimize network planning, and deep-dive into pain points to debottleneck our scaling efforts. 

What You Will Do

  • Work with large datasets to identify issues and drive improvements that have quantifiable impact, using advanced data analytics tools (SQL, Python, R, etc.).
  • Conduct geospatial analysis to evaluate network structures in each market, in order to optimize first and last mile delivery speed and cost.
  • Work closely with local counterparts in each market to understand their business problems, scaling factors, and boundary conditions.
  • Drive adoption of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and best practices across the region wide Shopee Xpress network to ensure standardization of processes.
  • Communicate ideas and key findings in a logical and structured manner to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Manage the roll-out and adoption of tech solutions for different projects, including coordinating User Acceptance Testing (UAT), developing training material, reporting and tracking of impact after roll-out. 

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or above in any related discipline.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, proficiency in scripting languages especially SQL and Python is a plus.
  • Full-time interns preferred (3-6 months).
  • Part-time interns who can commit at least 3 working days a week are also welcome to apply.
  • Interest in building broad capabilities in strategy, operations, and data analytics in the e-commerce industry.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and collaborative work environment to achieve business goals and make an impact.
  • Ability to break down complex problems into small actionable, draw insights from complex data, and design practical and scalable solutions.
  • Ability to bring onboard new perspectives and ways to carry out tasks, solve problems, and meet challenges.
